It is expensive because you get many effects but economical because you only need to buy one unit. Distortion pedal, single tap action, rocking pedal for wah, volume, and whammy effects can be found in a single multi-effect pedal. -However, multi-effect pedals are reputed to have inferior quality to those of individual pedals.
